Pace

Safety

Reporting, blocking, and what happens next. Short, because you are probably not here to read.

Last updated:

If you are in immediate danger, do not use Pace: call the emergency services. 112 anywhere in Europe, or your country’s emergency number. A report does not go to the police.

Report

On a profile, a message, a club post, a comment or a photo, open the menu and choose “Report”. Pick a reason: fake profile, harassment, inappropriate content, spam, underage person, or something else. You can add a few lines, and block at the same time.

  • A report goes through even if you have already blocked the person.
  • The person you report is not told, and never learns who reported them.
  • Only the moderation team can read a report. It does not appear anywhere in the app, not even for you.

Block

Blocking someone is immediate and silent. The person is not told.

  • You disappear for each other: no profile, no messages, no photos, nothing of theirs on the map.
  • Any friendship ends, pending requests both ways are removed, and their notifications leave your inbox.
  • Unblocking does not bring any of this back. You would have to ask again.
  • Your blocked list is in Settings, where you can change your mind.

What Pace does with it

Reports land in a queue our team reads, oldest first. Each one is closed with a decision: we act, or we dismiss the report. Acting can mean hiding the content, a warning, closing one feature (Dating, posting or chat), suspending the account for a time, or closing it for good. The person concerned sees the decision and its reason in the app, and can contest it once, except a warning; the team reads the appeal and lifts, shortens or keeps the decision, with a reply.

If something is urgent and the app is not enough, write to us directly at support@pacematch.app.

What the app does for you without being asked

  • Live sharing is off by default, only ever reaches your friends or your faction, as you choose, and always hides the first and last 200 metres of a run.
  • A stranger never sees a position or a route: only territory, at the level of a cell about 110 metres wide, and without a name.
  • In Dating, before you have met, the other person only sees an area about 420 metres wide, never a point.
  • Your date of birth is shown to no one, and Dating is closed to minors, checked on every action.
  • Accounts of people under 18 start private, and only their friends can message them.

Before a date

  • Choose a public, busy meeting point. Never your home, never your usual starting point.
  • Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.
  • You owe no explanation for not coming, leaving halfway, or blocking.
